Advertiser & Editorial Disclosure

Wells Fargo has a storied history as a part of the Old West, where its famous stagecoaches delivered both express mail and gold. Today, Wells Fargo is a major national bank that offers a variety of products for consumers and businesses. It’s line-up includes three very different credit cards for a wide variety of business owners.

Features Common to All Cards

All three Wells Fargo business cards offer your choice of cash-back rewards or points for your spending. If you choose cash back, then you earn 1.5% cash back on on all purchases, and you receive your cash back automatically as a credit to your account or to your eligible checking or savings account each quarter. If you choose reward points, then you earn 1 point for every $1 spent, plus 1,000 bonus points every time your spending reaches $1,000 in a monthly billing period. Points can be redeemed for rewards such as gift cards, merchandise, and airline tickets. Plus, you can get a 10% bonus when you redeem points online.

These cards also feature comprehensive online tools including the ability to manage spending, payments, and transfers. You can also manage your expenses with the Wells Fargo Business Spending Report tool. You can even use Wells Fargo’s Card Design Studio Service to customize your card with your business’s logo or another image.

Let’s take a look at these three cards, and see which one is right for you:

Wells Fargo Business Secured Credit Card

This credit card is ideal for small business owners that need the power of a credit card while they rebuild their credit. To open an account, business owners must first submit a refundable security deposit of between $500 and $25,000, which becomes their credit line. Then, you are able to use this card just like any other credit card. You will have to make regular monthly payments, and you will incur interest charges when you choose to carry a balance. In fact, merchants won’t even realize that you’re using a secured card.

If you have the Business Secured Card, Wells Fargo will periodically review your account to determine if you qualify for an unsecured card, and a refund of your security deposit.  There’s a $25 annual fee per card issued, with a limit of 10 cards per account, and no foreign transaction fees.

Wells Fargo Business Platinum Credit Card

This Wells Fargo card is for small business owners that need a standard, unsecured card. It’s designed for businesses with annual sales up to $2 million. It offers a credit line of up to $50,000, and up to 99 employee cards at no additional fee. It has no annual fee and no foreign transaction fees.

Wells Fargo Business Elite Card®

As your business grows, Wells Fargo has a card that meets your needs. It’s designed for businesses with annual sales above $1 million. The Wells Fargo Business Elite Card can feature a credit line of up to $300,000, and can give you up to 200 employee cards. It also includes spending controls that can limit employees spending to certain merchant types, dollar amounts, or even spending during business hours only.

This card offers the same rewards program as the other Wells Fargo business cards, however, those that choose the points option receive 5,000 bonus points when the company spends $10,000 in any monthly billing period. There is no annual fee for this card, and no foreign transaction fee. But it does have a $75 optional rewards program fee, which is waived the first year.
